The door of an MRI scan room is an especially critical part of the RF shielding and to make sure that the necessary quality is achieved and maintained, IMEDCO manufactures its own doors. Apart from having to fulfil its primary task as an RF shield, the door also has to be easy for medical staff to use, perform its function over a long period and look attractive to reassure patients. Because of their lightweight construction, ergonomically designed handles and safety latch on the inside, IMEDCO RF doors fulfil all these requirements, in particular the high-quality brass frame provides for ease of opening and good RF contact. Doors can be manufactured in a variety of sizes and the threshold is designed to permit easy passage with a gurney, wheelchair or trolley. The contact fingers around the edge of the doors can be replaced without difficulty with the door in situ.
